Resident Services Department

PMHA’s Resident Services Department connects low- to moderate-income Public Housing residents and Section 8 Family-Self Sufficiency (FSS) Program participants with referrals and supportive services in partnership with the local community, to encourage individuals and families to reach their full potential. The Resident Services Department strives to assist participants to make progress toward economic and housing self-sufficiency, by linking them to the services that enable them to increase earned income, reduce or eliminate the need for welfare assistance, and make progress toward achieving economic independence. For elderly and disabled residents, the Resident Services Department links participants to supportive services which enable them to age/remain in-place, living independently and with improved quality of life, thereby avoiding more costly forms of care.

Service Coordination and Referrals

PMHA’s Resident Services Department offers a wide variety of services and activities to assist our residents with obtaining the needed tools and resources to facilitate self-sufficiency, success, and an improved quality of life. By collaborating with various community agencies, we focus on economic independence, education, employment, and financial literacy initiatives that benefit our resident population. Several participants in our programs have furthered their education, obtained employment that provides a comfortable living wage, became free from all forms of government assistance, and moved on to purchase their own home through PMHA’s Homeownership Assistance Program.

What programs are part of the PMHA’s Resident Services Department? Under the 2019 Resident Opportunity and Supportive Services (ROSS) Service Coordinator grant, PMHA was awarded 3 year renewal funding to retain a Service Coordinator. Sabrina Moss, PMHA’s ROSS Service Coordinator, is available to provide Public Housing residents with short-term case management and linkage to community resources that can provide assistance with basic needs and self-sufficiency goals. Sabrina can be reached at 330-297-1489 Ext. 213. Under the 2019 Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) grant, PMHA was awarded 1 year renewal funding to retain a FSS Coordinator. Tiffani Toth, PMHA’s FSS Coordinator, builds partnerships with employers and service providers in the community to ensure Section 8 FSS participants are linked to supportive services they need to achieve self-sufficiency.
